AIFI Launches GenNext Entrepreneurs Forum to Lead India’s Forging Industry

The Association of Indian Forging Industry (AIFI) has announced the launch of the GenNext Entrepreneurs Forum, a pioneering platform aimed at nurturing the next generation of leaders in India’s forging sector. This initiative is designed to equip young entrepreneurs with the essential tools and knowledge to thrive in a rapidly globalizing industry marked by rapid innovation and sustainability challenges.

As India's economy grows at a robust 7.2% annual rate, and industries embrace disruptive technologies such as AI, IoT, robotics, and fintech, the forging sector is poised for a major transformation. The GenNext Entrepreneurs Forum responds to these changes by offering emerging leaders in family-owned forging businesses the support they need to succeed in this evolving landscape.

Yash Munot, President of AIFI, highlighted the significance of the forum: “The GenNext Entrepreneurs Forum is a movement to shape the future of the Indian forging industry. Our goal is to position Indian forging as a global leader in innovation, quality, and sustainability. We aim to provide young entrepreneurs with insights, leadership training, industry best practices, and global exposure to help them navigate the changing industrial world.”

The forum will create a space for young forging leaders to share knowledge, participate in leadership development programs, and stay updated on the latest global trends and technologies. Activities will include strategic sessions, academic partnerships, policy discussions, and visits to innovation hubs. The first milestone of the forum was a launch event in Hyderabad, featuring a tour of the CII-Godrej Green Business Centre, India’s first LEED Platinum-certified building, and a leadership workshop by Dr. Rahul More on “Re-inventing Family-Owned Businesses and Shifting Orbits of Growth.”

Founded in 1965, AIFI is the oldest and most influential association representing the Indian forging industry, with the highest membership in the sector. The Indian forging industry is a crucial driver of the nation’s manufacturing sector, playing a pivotal role in the success of the automobile, power, and general engineering industries. AIFI serves as the umbrella organization for over 200 forging members across India, whose products include components such as crankshafts, connecting rods, camshafts, gearboxes, and industrial valves.

The forging industry is a vital supplier to automotive companies and a key contributor to employment. As India stands as the second-largest producer of forgings globally, after China, AIFI has been at the forefront of advocating for the industry’s interests, fostering dialogue between stakeholders, and driving proactive solutions for policy development and market expansion.
